I'm Taylor

A Bit About Me

I am a soon to be Elon University graduate studying Strategic Communication and Media Analytics with a minor in Psychology.

What I Have Been Up To

At Elon University I have taken so many wonderful classes that have taught me so much. I have been challenged in ways that have allowed me to grow and become a communications professional who worked an internship at Glen Raven and gained so much confidence. I have also been working, as a tour guide and as student body president! These experiences have shaped me as a person, and I am so grateful for all I have learned. I am excited to share these amazing experiences with you in more depth, scroll to learn more about what I have been up to!

Classes

During my classes I conducted primary and secondary research, explored audience behaviors and created plans to execute campaigns. Below are a few examples of work I have created, both in teams and myself.

This is a project from my Strategic Campaigns class where we worked with a community partner. We created campaigns for Sustainable Alamance to support their goals. Sustainable Alamance is a program for previously incarcerated individuals to support them with resources to reintegrate in the community. It was really fulfilling to work with a community partner in class. My work felt meaningful and I will hopefully see some of these ideas come to life. I worked with an amazing team! This is an extended version of what we presented to the Sustainable Alamance team.

Internships

During the summer of 2024 I worked full time as an intern at Glen Raven Inc. I was focued on marketing, social media, and analytics. I was able to learn so much and felt like a valued member of the GlenGaurd sub-brand team. I also did work for other sub-brands in the Glen Raven family who did not have marketing teams. At the end of the summer I presented my work in front of co-workers and the president of the company. It was an amazing experience and I learned so much.

During my internship in 2021 I was able to learn so much more about communications and fell in love with the field. I also wrote and published an article as a high-school intern! Check it out:

Tour Guide

I was hired at a tour guide during my sophomore year of college. I was selected after completing a highly competitive application and interview process. Not only have I memorized tour routes and information to fill an hour and a half tour, but I also work admissions events. I have been able to answer hard questions and keep 100s of families engaged during my tours. I was also promoted during my junior year to train new hires.

Student Body President

I ran and was elected student body president of Elon University in 2024. During my term I was able to complete so much work with my executive team and senate. I welcomed the class of 2028 during a commencement address that I wrote and spoke in front of over 8000 people. I sat on committees, met with the President of the university and the Board of Trustees. One of my favorite accomplishments was using Student Government Association funds as a donation to a new health and recreation building on campus. The Vice President for Student Life reached out to me to start this project. I wrote legislation to donate $250,000 to the newest Elon building. Once senators expressed concern with the amount of money I worked with the Vice President for Student Life and he agreed to match the donation to reach $500,000 which allowed SGA to get a part of the building named after us. With this successful partnership the senate passed the legislation and I am very excited to see the new building come to fruition.
